Los avances en tecnología, globalización, estructuras organizativas y formas de trabajo han permitido que los equipos virtuales o remotos puedan ser una realidad. Sin duda, gestionar talento remotamente requiere un enfoque diferente que si fuera presencialmente en la oficina. Significa nuevas metodologías y técnicas de comunicación para obtener lo mejor del otro, al tiempo que optimizar el desempeño organizacional y personal.
Debes tener en cuenta que al no contar con los colaboradores cerca de forma física, se puede crear obstáculos para la comunicación, la colaboración, la construcción de relaciones y el intercambio de conocimientos dentro del equipo. Por ello, en Hays México te brindamos estos pasos para conseguir un equipo remoto alineado y fuerte:
- Una estrategia interna de comunicación clara: Al administrar trabajadores remotos, es importante que establezcas los mejores canales de comunicación y mantengas una comunicación frecuente con tu equipo. Las conversaciones regulares e inclusivas te permitirán saber cómo se sienten, qué les preocupa, darles soporte emocional, al igual que comunicar objetivos comunes al tiempo que se establecen las habilidades que cada miembro del equipo para contribuir a alcanzarlos.
Tienes que tomar en cuenta que, en un entorno de oficina, los miembros del equipo tienen amplias oportunidades para establecer una relación profesional y personal entre ellos, ya sea compartiendo ideas de trabajo o poniéndose al día sobre el fin de semana en el elevador. Este tipo de interacciones improvisadas entre tu personal puede fomentar relaciones de trabajo y abrir líneas de comunicación relacionadas con el trabajo. Por supuesto, esto es algo complicado de replicar, por ejemplo, cuando uno de los miembros del equipo está en México, otro en el Reino Unido y seis más en Estados Unidos. Las llamadas en conferencia brindan la oportunidad de alentar las conversaciones y construir relaciones. También mantén la comunicación estableciendo un chat grupal para compartir éxitos, hacer preguntas y mencionar cambios que surgen en el día a día.
Por otro lado, el correo electrónico puede ser una excelente manera de transmitir un mensaje en ciertos casos, por ejemplo, al compartir documentos, videos e imágenes. Además, parte de tu equipo puede estar trabajando en diferentes zonas horarias. Sin embargo, el peligro es terminar con un hilo de correos electrónicos interminable, las conversaciones se desvían y el objetivo común se pierde. De nuevo, la forma de combatir esto es mediante la programación de llamadas regulares para tener conversaciones en tiempo real con un objetivo claro. Envía una agenda de antemano y anima a todos en la llamada a agregarla para que no se pierda nada. Mantén la conversación abierta y brinda a cada asistente la oportunidad de hablar y proporcionar actualizaciones. Al hacer esto, te asegurarás de que todos estén en la misma página, alineados e informados.
- Atender las llamadas siempre que sea posible: Si te resulta difícil encontrar un tiempo de llamada que funcione para todos, usa un asistente de programación automatizado: el software de calendario de correo electrónico puede que integre uno o, alternativamente, prueba Doodle. Cuando programes llamadas, ten en cuenta las diferencias horarias y mantén las llamadas lo más cerca posible del horario de oficina estándar. Si encuentras que es difícil hacerlo para cada miembro del equipo, gira los horarios para asegurarte de que cada trabajador obtenga su horario de conveniencia.

Si bien las videollamadas pueden ayudar a mitigar el problema, aún puede ser complicado leer el lenguaje corporal y las expresiones faciales de las personas, especialmente cuando se tienen en cuenta aspectos como la calidad y el ángulo de la cámara. Por lo tanto, también debes prestar especial atención a las voces de las personas, identificando cualquier cambio en el tono, ritmo, cortando así cualquier problema potencial de raíz.
En resumen, unir una fuerza de trabajo remota implica principalmente ser consciente y proactivo sobre las posibles barreras para unirse al equipo. Estas barreras incluyen diferentes zonas horarias y ubicaciones, lo que puede conducir a una falta de comunicación y construcción de relaciones entre el personal.
