El Día Internacional del Sueño: una llamada de atención

Cada viernes previo al equinoccio de primavera, el mundo conmemora el Día Internacional del Sueño, una iniciativa de la Sociedad Mundial del Sueño que, desde 2008, busca generar conciencia sobre la importancia de un descanso adecuado. Y es que dormir bien no es un lujo, es una necesidad vital.

La Secretaría de Salud señala que hasta el 80% de los problemas para dormir pueden solucionarse con una buena higiene del sueño. Pero ¿qué estamos haciendo mal? En la era de las pantallas, el estrés y las jornadas interminables, descuidamos hábitos básicos que podrían transformar nuestra calidad de vida.

Cinco claves para dormir mejor (sin excusas)

La Dra. Cynthia Vega, directora de Relaciones Médicas de PiSA Farmacéutica, nos comparte cinco hábitos que pueden marcar la diferencia:

  1. Duerme con disciplina: Acuéstate y levántate a la misma hora todos los días. Tu cuerpo ama la rutina.
  2. Diseña tu santuario del descanso: Oscuridad, silencio y temperatura adecuada. La calidad del ambiente es clave.
  3. Desconéctate (de verdad): Evita pantallas al menos una hora antes de dormir. La luz azul es tu peor enemiga.
  4. Relájate antes de dormir: Prueba la meditación, la lectura o la respiración profunda. Tu cerebro necesita señales para desconectarse.
  5. Cuida lo que comes y bebes: Adiós a la cafeína, el alcohol y las cenas pesadas antes de dormir. Tu estómago y tu sueño te lo agradecerán.

Dormir bien: el nuevo paradigma del éxito

La falta de sueño no es sinónimo de productividad, sino de agotamiento y errores. La Dra. Cynthia Vega lo resume con claridad: “El Día Mundial del Sueño es una oportunidad para reflexionar sobre nuestros hábitos de descanso y reconocer la importancia de priorizar el sueño en nuestras vidas.
