De acuerdo con la 28ª edición de la Global CEO Survey, capítulo México, la confianza de los CEO en el crecimiento de los ingresos de sus empresas ha disminuido. Solo el 31% de los líderes empresariales en el país se siente muy confiado en el aumento de sus ingresos para este año, lo que representa una caída del 18% respecto al año anterior. Además, dos de cada cinco CEO consideran que el PIB de México podría reducirse en 2025, alineándose con las proyecciones de la OCDE, que estima un crecimiento económico de solo 1.2% para el próximo año.
Sin embargo, pese a este entorno desafiante, el 44% de los CEO en México sigue siendo optimista sobre la mejora de la economía global en los próximos 12 meses. Además, por segundo año consecutivo, México se mantiene dentro de los 10 principales países considerados para la inversión a nivel global, lo que representa una oportunidad clave para la atracción de capital y el desarrollo empresarial.
Sostenibilidad: una inversión con impacto a largo plazo
El estudio revela que un 30% de los CEO encuestados ha observado un aumento en sus ingresos durante los últimos cinco años gracias a inversiones amigables con el medio ambiente. No obstante, el 65% indica que sus ingresos han tenido poco o nulo cambio derivado de este tipo de inversiones. El cumplimiento regulatorio es un paso inicial para integrar la sostenibilidad dentro de la estrategia corporativa, pero las empresas deben ir más allá, incorporando la sostenibilidad como un pilar clave en su resiliencia financiera. La adopción de estas prácticas no solo ayuda a mitigar riesgos, sino que también puede atraer inversores interesados en el valor de la protección ambiental.
Transformación digital: clave para la eficiencia y la competitividad
El modelo de negocio tradicional está en un punto de evolución. Según el informe, el 56% de los CEO en México ha observado una mayor eficiencia en su trabajo tras la adopción de inteligencia artificial generativa (GenAI). Además, el 53% de los encuestados destaca que esta tecnología ha permitido optimizar el tiempo de trabajo de sus colaboradores.
La GenAI también se perfila como un motor de rentabilidad, ya que el 49% de los CEO, tanto en México como en el mundo, considera que esta innovación podría incrementar sus ganancias en los próximos 12 meses. La clave estará en la preparación del talento humano para adaptarse a estos avances tecnológicos. Aquellas empresas que fortalezcan las habilidades de sus equipos para aprovechar la tecnología tendrán mayores posibilidades de crecimiento y adaptación en el futuro.
Reinvención empresarial para un futuro resiliente
El informe subraya que el 60% de los CEO en México no ha incursionado en nuevos sectores o industrias en el último año, lo que representa un área de oportunidad para la diversificación y el crecimiento. Ana Paula Jiménez, Socia Directora de PwC México, destaca la importancia de la anticipación ante los retos económicos y tecnológicos: “Para navegar en un entorno cambiante como el actual, es imperativo anticiparse a los retos económicos y tecnológicos. Las organizaciones que se adapten con mayor rapidez hacia la búsqueda de nuevos negocios y aprovechen las oportunidades estarán mejor posicionadas para el futuro”.
La combinación de tecnología, sostenibilidad e innovación en el modelo de negocio será determinante para el futuro de las empresas en México. En un panorama desafiante, los CEO tienen la oportunidad de transformar amenazas en oportunidades de crecimiento, consolidando estrategias resilientes que permitan prosperar en el largo plazo.
